Doja Cat’s “Like That” leaked, it’s fiyah but do we even care?

A leaked video has surfaced of Doja Cat’s upcoming single “Like That” with Gucci Mane and I’m not gonna lie. It’s fiyah. Lit. It’s Edgy. Doja is serving attitude and lewks.

And splits.

Here’s why I’m torn. Doja is extermely talented. You can’t deny her that. She has a fan base that varies from different races and cultures. She’s able to be diverse in her appearance and style that people gravitate towards. Her music is able to cross over different genres. And the fact that she has the ability to reach great heights in fame and stardom. She means alot of things to alot different people both good and bad.

It’s the responsibility thing. I think, and it’s just my opinion that Doja, the person, may not want all that. And by her being up in the chat rooms, talking shit and doing “her” through what can be deemed as negative actions and behavior to some, that’s how it can be preceived to the outside. For her, if she was like this before the fame and she’s being her authentic self she may not feel complied to change anything. Doja Cat the Artist. Amala the person and what she does with her private time without being sructinized by the public, is her own thing.

But when you reach her level of fame, responsibility comes with the territory. That’s just the reality. All eyes are on you. You have to move different. You have to carry yourself different. People have agendas. Haters are watching. Fans admire you. They want you to win. Yeah it can be overwhelming, but that’s what you sign up for. And the fact that her actions has the black community giving her the side eye when they helped push her whole vibe to the forefront. I don’t think she took that into account or respected it. That’s something that she is realizing now.

However with all the controversy surrounding Doja within the span of a fews day stemming from her alleged involvement with anti black chat rooms, self-hate reflections on IG live and songs leaked the can be precieved as mocking black men and women affected by police bruality, the question remains?

Is Doja forever cancelled or will team #WereSorryDoja continue to stan? What are your thoughts on seperating the artist, the person and their personal lives from their art?

Or are they obligated in a sense to move different once that level of fame has been reached and conduct themselves accordingly.
